India of my dreams

When we are talking about   a dream, we mean future and when we mean future, we point to a positive idea.   Talking about   a recent event in this context, the ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation) launched 104 polar satellites in a single rocket created a remarkable record in the National and International history.   And people around exclaiming of the capabilities of India to setup a space station of its own makes every Indian’s heart of 36 inches with pride and dignity. No doubt India is sound enough in technology with a whole lot of scientists, technologists, architects, etc. serving in India as well as in countries abroad.   A big question arises,   how do you envisage your India after a decade.   What are all the things and strategies you would add up for its development and what would you omit .   Hence,   maintaining the rule of the people, by the people and for the people. Well this would be a small description of m...

The Unfortunate Fortunes

How do you see homosexuals around you?   In India, it’s very easy to face one or two in public places. They popularly call them as ‘hijrahs’.   They are known for the way they applaud and demand for small ransoms. What strikes into your minds when you have a confrontation with one?   Here, i would like to share one of my special experiences in this regard.   Although i had been watching these extraordinary mankinds on and off but this one is really close to my heart.   A few months ago, i was moving to Delhi with my mother by train. When we had just 1 hour   left for our journey, some of them came clapping, cheering and laughing.   One of them came to us and my mother handed her a ten- rupee note. Then, my mother asked her for   a coin.   She gladly took one coin out of her purse, handed over it to my mom,   placed her hands over my head and bestowed me. Sorry, did i use ‘she’ pronoun to address her,   but that is what we...

HUMANS BE MORE HUMANE

Image
Yesterday morning, while rambling along the road on my way to college i saw a vendor taking chickens onto his cycle-cart.   The chickens were neither fastened nor caged rather kept openly.   I pondered why the birds weren’t   moving or trying to flee.   After a brief observation, i realized that their legs were intentionally injured.   The scene distressed me. The chickens thus meant for poultry purposes are ill-treated in several instances. They are tied up by their legs and transported on two-wheeler. They are tightly caged with more of their kinds.  Many a times they die due to suffocation and lack of locomotion.  Imagine yourself packed up with a group of people in a lift.  How long can you stand the suffocation and discomfort without being able to move an inch?   A difficult question indeed!                   These chickens are usually not fed, which ultimately compels th...

THE 1971 WAR

Image
When two countries fought for the birth of a new country We are discussing this in the context of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.  There are a wide number of circumstances that resulted into the war call.  Amidst those stressful times between India and Pakistan, this was the only war which did not include Kashmir.   The situation started taking a suicidal form, when the East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) was campaigning for the recognition of Bengali language as one of the official languages. Many refugees from East Pakistan  came to India to seek shelters to save their lives from the Pakistani brutalities and hostilities. India unwantedly became a part of this conflict on 15 May, when it started aiding and training the Mukti Bahini fighters of East Pakistan.  India also launched a global diplomatic offensive to help create Bangladesh.  India’s army took over the responsibility of the operations  to be carried out against West Pakis...

Love Colour

THE “LOVE” COLOUR   If you are asked “What is the true colour of love”, what would your answer be?  Most people would invariably say “RED”.  And what if you are further asked to justify your answer, how would you respond then ?   Why is red the colour of love?  Why not blue, green, black, yellow or brown? The “red” colour signifies much more than love: It's the colour of blood and of fire,   of compassion and of danger, of passion and of vigour,   of romance and of wrath, of desire and of anger, of attraction and of revenge. Talking of the red expression, it depicts shame as well as anger.   Its the colour   for courage, willpower and determination. Reverting to our question,   “why red is colour of love”.  Is it because we feel love from our hearts and heart is red?  Or you might have   many more notions of colouring love red. In my opinion, it seems completely pointless to allot love a particular...

My Magical Transformation

“Sure i am that this day we are masters of our fate, that the task which has been set before us is not above our strength ; that this pangs and toils are not beyond my endurance. As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will to win, victory will not be denied us. ”     -Winston Churchill                         Few months before, i achieved a wonderful book as a prize from my college. That time i was not so much aware of the miraculous changes and enlightenment this book would bring into my life. This book was “Who will cry when you die ?” by Robin Sharma. Never before i had heard his name. Although, being fond of reading influential books on life lessons , i ideally started reading   it. I gradually started advancing much curiosity and captivation regarding the subject of self-improvement. While reading, i simultaneo...
